PNBC Honors Constitution Day of Norway
Last May 19, 2017 just as the sun was setting in Manila Bay, members and guests of the Philippines Norway Business Council (PNBC) assembled at The Peninsula Manila in Makati City to honor Norway’s Constitution Day. A pre-event cocktails was held at hotel’s mezzanine recital hall as the attendees enjoyed their welcome drinks while being serenaded by a pianist and string quartet.
The occasion was hosted by PNBC’s Vice President Jannicke Steen-Utvik. The Council’s President, Capt. Ivar Thomasli gave the welcome remarks, and followed by a message from the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Manila delivered by Chargé d’Affaires Kristian Netland, who also read a short greeting from His Majesty, King Harald V.
Mr. Netland also introduced the Guest Speaker, local media personality Atom Araullo, who gave a talk on a documentary he produced regarding climate change, for which he visited Oslo, Bergen and Spitsbergen in Svalbard to take stunning footages, sample the Norwegian food, enjoy the local culture and all that jazz.
The members and guests enjoyed the awesome and delectable “Norway-meets-Philippines” fusion food consisting the full-course dinner delicately prepared by Chef Margarita Forés, who was voted Asia’s best female chef in 2016.
The band, Silk, took over as it was apparent that the evening had graduated into a night of dancing. People trooped to the dance floor to trip the lights fantastic. What a great way to celebrate Norway’s Constitution Day!
