PNBC, TSM EXTEND HELPING HAND TO BFF AMIDST COVID19 OUTBREAK

Just like many others, the Covid19 pandemic has put a lot of pressure on the operations of Bridge Builder Foundation Norway, Inc. (BBF), a non-government organization (NGO) that helps street children and their families by providing various interventions aimed at getting children under their care to receive formal education, among others. As a CSR response, the Philippines Norway Business Council (PNBC) gave a donation of Php 30,000.00 to the aforesaid Foundation.

The donation was utilized by Bridge Builder to procure vitamins, medicines, hygiene kits, milk, and diapers for the children under their care. The entire staff and beneficiaries of the Foundation expressed their gratitude to PNBC through a report that was received by PNBC’s CSR Technical Working Group head Rodolfo Azanza, Jr. via email.

In addition to their regular/stay-in student beneficiaries, BBF currently has three infants in their facility, and the donation was partly used for infant milk to give sustenance to the babies. Every individual beneficiary in the BFF facility in Baclaran, Paranaque City are regularly being checked by BFF health/social workers for body temperature and general health.

The accompanying Images show the initial kits assembled under the donation. Some of the hygiene kits were also intended for the 10-15 regular clients who go to the foundation daily for their WASH program. They are those who stay on the street and BFF open its door between 8:00-10:00AM with observance of social distancing and proper disinfection afterwards.

In the report, BFF Chief Social Worker Rose Verendia said that, “In behalf of all the staff and beneficiaries of the Bridge Builder Foundation, we thank your good hearts for a generous act of giving in response to the needs of our beneficiaries especially amidst this public health crisis that continuously paralyze the economy of the Philippines.”

It is also through PNBC that a member company also extended assistance to BFF. Thome Ship Management delivered goods and supplies to the Foundation on the same date. Wearing a proper mask and observing the mandated social distancing, Thome’s VP Per Selmer-Olsen personally went to the BFF facility in Baclaran to hand-deliver the donations and meet with the Bridge Builder staff in regard of this CSR activity.
