PNBC Donates to Bridge Builder Foundation

The children under the care of Bridge Builder Foundation Norway Inc. located near the Baclaran Church in Paranaque City, Metro Manila will begin enjoying the monobloc chairs and high quality folding tables donated by the Philippines Norway Business Council (PNBC).

The council’s CSR working group head Rodolfo “Ozone” Azanza, Jr. visited the Bridge Builder facility in August and noted the need for these chairs and tables after a long meeting with Rose Verendia, the head social worker of the Foundation.

“We teach these out-of-school youth new things to do, like in the field of arts and music, so we have this music and dance studio in our facility. But we lack chairs that we can move around for various purposes and tables for the arts classes and even for some micro-enterprise activities for the parents”, said Ms. Verendia.
PNBC’s corporate social responsibility thrust is towards education, believing that this is the key in breaking the vicious cycle of poverty.

“Non-formal education is just as important, especially that we have seen how arts and musical talents have changed the lives of many poor people in this country”, said Mr. Azanza.

The CSR working group is also discussing the possibility of using the Christmas cards made by the Bridge Builder children as its official greeting cards this coming Yuletide season.
