PNBC Christmas Luncheon
Philippines Norway Business Council held its last networking luncheon of the year on 4 December 2012, at the usual meeting place; I’m Angus Steakhouse in Makati City.
A traditional Norwegian Christmas menu was prepared, consisting of Norwegian gravlaks, pork rib with potatoes, sauerkraut and peas pudding, and cloudberries for dessert.
A crowd of almost 50 persons attended the Christmas Luncheon; a nice way to end a year of successful PNBC events and gatherings.
Ivar Thomasli, the President of PNBC, welcomed the guests at the start of the luncheon, and highlighted some of the projects the business council has had in 2012. He also touched on the plans for 2013, such as a promotion event of business possibilities in Cebu, the celebration of Norway’s Constitution Day, and a maritime roadshow marketing Norway and its shipping industry, as well as a career at sea.
After the tasteful main course, Philippe Leclercq of the Asian Development Bank gave a presentation of the private sector operations of the bank. Its long term strategy is to foster economic growth and co-operation in the Asia Pacific region, and to contribute to economic development of the bank’s developing member countries in the region. Philippe Leclercq presented the various sectors the bank focuses and also some success stories.
