Mar 21: Nordic Innovation Forum at Asian Institute of Management

NordCham Philippines, together with the Embassies of Denmark, Norway, Sweden in Manila, the Embassy of Finland in Kuala Lumpur, and the Philippines Norway Business Council, and in partnership with Asian Institute of Management, Ideaspace Foundation, KMC Solutions, and Trends & Concepts, is organizing the Nordic Innovation Forum at AIM Fuller Hall on March 21, 2019 at 7.30 AM – 1.30 PM. The forum is part of the 2019 NordStar Event Series on Innovation and Sustainability, supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers (Norden).

The Nordic Innovation Forum brings together 150 key stakeholders of the innovation ecosystem: startups, universities, accelerators, incubators, corporations, investors, government, and NGOs. We will hear inspirational keynotes, panel discussions, and company cases throughout the half-day forum. The objectives of the forum are to:
• share perspectives on how to build a thriving innovation ecosystem
• discuss best practices from the Nordic countries and how these are relevant in the Philippine context
• foster deeper innovation cooperation between startups and the corporate world, and in the public-private sector.

In the past decade, the Nordic startup ecosystem has become a hotbed for innovation: Skype, Spotify, Klarna, Supercell – these are names many of us know well, and that have now become synonymous with Nordic unicorns. What’s the region’s secret sauce, and what can we learn from their entrepreneurial culture?

At the same time, the Philippines has a burgeoning innovation and startup scene: the government has its public-private innovation hub, tech startups are attracting foreign investment, and a venture capital and private equity industry association has recently been established.

There are tremendous opportunities out there to co-create and innovate – the Nordic Innovation Forum provides a platform for ideas to fly and partnerships to be established!
