PNBC’s NEW OFFICERS HOLD STRATEGIC PLANNING

A new era for PNBC is now unfolding!

The Directors of the Philippines Norway Business Council (PNBC) have elected from among themselves a new set of officers who will take the helm in steering the Council into achieving another fruitful year.

Capt. Ivar Thomasli (Thome Ship Mgt.-ROHQ) will continue in his role as President. Capt. Helge Oliversen Wilhelmsen Smith Bell) will take the seat of VP for Internal Affairs, while Jo Even Tomren (Norwegian Training Center Manila) will wear the hat of VP for External Affairs. Jan Andre Heggem (SMS Global) will continue on as Public Relations Officer, and Charles Dela Cruz (Del Rosario & Del Rosario Law) will likewise remain as Corporate Secretary. Newly-elected Director, Mr. Torger Trige (Odfjell Shipmanagement Philippines) is the new Treasurer.
Rodolfo T. Azanza, Jr. (Norconsult Philippines), Carl Martin Faannessen (Aboitiz Jebsen Bulk Transport) and Tor Stokke (SN Power Philippines) will support the officers in their capacity as Directors. Mr. Azanza will continue to handle to CSR working Group, and Carl Martin has been appointed as Data Privacy Officer.

To plan the activities that will usher in a new era for PNBC, the Directors and Officers held a strategic planning session last November 24, 2017, at the residence of Norwegian Ambassador Erik Forner, who graciously also served as facilitator. Counsellor Hans Ola Urstad also graced the occasion.

The session proved to be very productive. Aside from fine-tuning the approach to the usual events, certain innovations were discussed to bring about new flavors into the activities that were mapped out. An action plan has also been hatched towards PNBC’s long term sustainability, in order that the organization will be able to hurdle the challenges that it may face in these changing times. All these will definitely bring in more interest and excitement as PNBC continues to sail ahead into new horizons.

Indeed, these new officers are well-prepared to usher in a new era for the Council. Let us all welcome the new team!
