PNBC, POSEIDON AND NORCONSULT DONATE FLOTATION DEVICES THAT USE RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLES
On 03 October 2022, the turnover of 130 units of “Salva Vida” or lifesaver flotation devices to the fisherfolks and residents of flood-prone communities near the Laguna Lake was held. This is a CSR project of the Philippines Norway Business Council (PNBC), Poseidon Asia and Norconsult, in partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) 108th Squadron. The event was hosted by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Pedro, Laguna headed by its young and notably very active leader, the honorable Mayor Art Mercado, City Admin. Atty Henry Salazar, and other LGU officials.
The event was attended by the Royal Norwegian Embassy officials led by Charges d’Affaires Geir Michalsen, Business Promotion Adviser Claus Gaasvig and Trade Advisor Ana Florentino.
Representing PNBC was Board Director Atty. Charles Dela Cruz and CSR Head Rodolfo Azanza, who also acted as the EMCEE during the turnover programme.

The project was conceived under an MOU signed between PNBC President Carl Martin Faannessen and PCGA 108th Squadron Director, Commo. Arnel Nocon late in 2021. Featuring recycles plastic bottles as the flotation mechanism of the lifesavers units, the project is a nod to the arrival of the Norwegian tallship, Statsraad Lehmkuhl in the port of Manila this October 2022, which is on its Southeast Asia leg of its “One Ocean Expedition” as it circumnavigates the globe for its advocacy against ocean plastics.
