PNBC PARTICIPATES IN DEPED’S BRIGADA ESKWELA 2019
PNBC celebrates another Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program milestone by actively participating in the Brigada Eskwela program of the Philippines’ Department of Education (DepEd). Brigada Eskwela is aimed at providing a conducive learning environment to students. One of the primary activities of the program is the cleanup and repair of schools all over the country prior to the start of the school year. Materials and equipment relative to such activity mostly come from donations from concerned companies and other institutions with parents providing sweat equity on top of their donations themselves. Donors and participants usually also donate notebooks, pencils and other school supplies to indigent students.
For this school year, 100 liters of high-quality paint were donated by PNBC member, Jotun (Philippines) Inc. to Libis Elementary School in Quezon City in support of PNBC’s participation to Brigada Eskwela. PNBC also provided a counterpart fund by purchasing painting paraphernalia, e.g. brushes, tubs and rollers, aluminum ladders. PNBC-member companies directly took part in the painting of the classroom buildings of Libis Elementary School last June 1st, namely: Norconsult Management Services, Phils., Inc. and Del Rosario & Del Rosario Law Offices. The team from Norconsult was headed by no less than the president himself, Mr. Rodolfo T. Azanza, Jr. while the team from Del Rosario & Del Rosario Law Offices was headed by their Office Manager, Mr. Elmer Leal.
In a related development, Norconsult also participated in a separate Brigada Eskwela event at the Lampanusan National High School in Kalilangan, Bukidnon wherein its consultants and staff currently deployed its project in Bukidnon joined the painting of classrooms in the said school.
On June 6, 2019, PNBC was again represented by its CSR Head. Rodolfo T. Azanza, Jr., in the donation of 1,200 notebooks, writing pads, and notepads to about 200 indigent students of Libis Elementary School.
