Klasrum ng Pagasa (KnP) completes Bataraza Classroom Project
As presented during the Christmas Networking Luncheon of PNBC late last year, the Klasrum ng Pagasa (KnP) has embarked on a civic project involving the construction of a4-classroom facility for a public high s chool in Brgy. Culandanum, Bataraza in the island Province of Palawan. PNBC supported this project with a Php100,000 donation specifically used for the completion of the classroom doors, windows, floorings, wirings and lighting fixtures.
The project was made possible by the group behind KnP, led by Atty. Angelo Valencia and Atty. Dixie Dugan, who worked closely with donors, the local government unit (LGU) officials, the Department of Education’s local office and school officials, the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Command, Marine Battalion Landing Team 12 in Palawan to mobilize heavy equipment and transport materials to the project site. Community members also provided sweat equity to get the project going. KnP is also working with other donors to install solar panels to this facility to provide off-grid power.
The PNBC continues to focus its CSR activities on education, which is a policy direction set by the PNBC Board years ago.
