Update to Members – July 2024
Dear PNBC-members,
Do feel free to share this email with your organization. Our updates are not exclusively for the leaders in our member-organizations, so do share. We always welcome attendance at our events from a broad section of our member companies.
We concluded yet another Board-meeting, and highlights of our discussions are shared below.
Member meetings
- There will not be a members’ meeting in July. We all know that this is peak summer for Norwegians…
- In August we resume presentations from members. We will have three members present themselves and what they do, including a Q&A. We also have an idea for a different venue than usual, but confirmation is still pending. When our worst-case scenario is to meet at I’m Angus, we know that we are in a very fortunate position.
- For September, we will have a guest speaker and more on that later. We are working on two options.
- October promises to be a TREAT: The members’ meeting will take place at Jotun’s production facility! Expect a tour of the factory, and more info about coatings (the rest of us call it paint) than you have ever received before.
- November has Creating MORE Currents again, this time about loyalty and we have four panels being prepared:
- “I fired a relative” – loyalty to family vs loyalty to employer.
- Loyalty when people work from home – how to build it?
- Loyalty for seafarers – is it still only “money, meals and mails”?
- Loyalty in M&A – what happens to loyalty when your company is sold?
- More details will follow.
- Early December is our annual Xmas luncheon.
In addition to members’ meetings, there will be a host of other events where we can engage and show support. Here are but a few:
- For those of us who read: The Manila Book Fair 11-15 September will feature a Norwegian crime author and former police officer and investigator. Come on – who doesn’t enjoy a good crime story?
- On the 11th of November, we will work with the Embassy to organize a Norwegian LNG-event. Great for the maritime and energy community we have here, and anyone interested in how we can help promote energy security and -diversification in the Philippines.
That’s it for now. As always, we are grateful for your membership and support. PNBC would not exist without it.
Best wishes,
Carl M.
