PNBC holds AGM, elects new Board
The Philippines Norway Business Council (PNBC) held its Annual General Assembly last Thursday, 30 April 2015 at its usual meeting place, the I’m Angus Steakhouse in Yakal St., Makati City. It was a well-attended event, with 43 people in attendance representing 29 individual and corporate members.
After certifying a quorum, the Minutes of the previous AGM were approved. The 2014 Annual Report was then presented to the body by PNBC President Ivar Thomasli, who also gave the floor to PNBC Director Rodolfo T. Azanza Jr. for the presentation of the CSR accomplishments and to PNBC Vice President Ms. Jannicke Steen for the budget 2015 and financial report.
After the presentation of the 2014 Annual Report, the election of new board of directors followed, as led by First Secretary Kristian Netland of the Royal Norwegian Embassy-Manila, who acted as the Election Commissioner. The following were elected into the new Board of PNBC:
• Ivar Thomasli (TSM Group)
• Jannicke Steen (Grieg Philippines)
• Jan Andre Heggem (SMS Global)
• Rodolfo T. Azanza, Jr. (Norconsult Philippines)
• Carl Martin Faannessen (Odfjell Philippines)
• Frank Fodstad (San Miguel Corp.)
• Helge Oliversen (Wilhelmsen Smith Bell)
• Tor Stokke (SN Power Philippines)
• Charles Jay Dela Cruz (Del Rosario Law)
Ivar Thomasli thanked the outgoing Board Directors, Arlene Kvaalen (Nordic Ventures Synergy Center), Luis Alfredo Perez (Yara Fertilizer Philippines) and Carsten Brill (Odfjell Drilling Philippines) for their services extended to the organization in the last term. SGV was also re-elected as PNBC’s Auditor.
While the body enjoyed the sumptuous lunch, the podium was given to a very interesting speaker, Chaplain Stein Vangen from The Norwegian Church Abroad. He spoke on the topic of crisis management. The title of his presentation was: “Crisis Happened; You, as the Person, is the Tool in Damage Limitation”.
The newly-elected Board of Directors will schedule a meeting to elect among themselves the new set of officers of PNBC.
